Who We Are

Deep Blue New Mexico is a family owned and operated, full service dive center located in the land locked state of New Mexico, USA. DBNM was founded back in June of 2011 (previously known by those in the Albuquerque area as Sandia Snorkel and Scuba) with the goal of providing a fun and friendly environment for divers to hang out and to educate and influence those that seek out new adventures in a safe and secure way.

Where We Dive

New Mexico may very well be in the middle of the southwest but it has some truly unique and challenging locations that many travel just to our state to seek out. We have three very special locations that we take our dive groups to, we have the famous Blue Hole for the wide eyed newbie, Perch lake for those that we like to test their navigation and rescue skills, and last but by no means least (our personal favorite) Rock lake for the seasoned and technically advanced diver.
Our Deep Blue crew is here for you, they are dedicated, passionate and extremely personable. So give us a call to book a dive, sign up for a course or just to chat. We look forward to diving with you.


Taking Classes?

If you have signed up for a class, you should have received any necessary eLearning code (for classes that have an online portion such as the Open Water class), if not, please call the shop. For information about how the 1st/Pool Weekend is structured, please see our Pool Agenda and the Blue Hole Weekend for the Open Water portion. You can always send us questions via our online Contact Us page, or visit us in person (you may want to call ahead to avoid missing us).

Gear... and stuff

New Mexico might be a hot dry state but our water is ccccold!
We carry Mares, Scuba Pro, USIA, are a fully licensed Henderson, SEAC, Zeagle and Cressi shop and will help get you in the safest, warmest most affordable setup customized just for you. If you don’t see something you love or you saw a better deal, let us know. We are here for you.
We can help you have your current gear tuned and or serviced as well as visual tank inspections. The team at Deep Blue will also help you with full rentals if you just need help with something to get you in the water, which is always our ultimate goal


PADI, Project Aware and DAN

We know you have choices when it comes to getting your scuba certification, and we believe that by offering PADI you get the quality of the longest standing and most globally recognized company in the world. We start with the Open Water Certification over two weekends, and will take you all the way to Instructor with our Instructor Development Team if that’s what you desire.
At Deep Blue we believe our Ocean ambassadors are the key to enlightenment, compassion and change so we will help get you involved in Project Aware initiatives and courses that are deeply entwined with each certification as you move through your Scuba journey.
Scuba doesn’t come without risk, but to mitigate that and also to ensure we all practice safe diving we are connected with DAN, the Divers Alert Network, the industry’s largest association dedicated to scuba diving safety for more than 30 years. Ask us how you can sign up for DAN when you come and visit, it’s absolutely free during your Open Water certification period.
